Role Overview:
The Urban Design Reviewer will evaluate urban planning and design proposals to ensure they align with zoning maps and the Urban Identity Design Guidelines. This position requires solid urban design expertise, analytical review skills, and the ability to advise stakeholders on achieving compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess urban design and planning submissions for consistency with approved identity guidelines.
  • Verify site layouts, master plans, and public realm designs against zoning and planning maps.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to planners, developers, and municipal staff.
  • Support issuing compliance certificates and official review reports.
  • Participate in stakeholder workshops and training sessions to build awareness and capacity.
  • Contribute to improving review processes and supporting documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in urban design review, master planning, or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong familiarity with zoning, urban codes, and identity-based design principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant urban planning software.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.

This role requires strong technical review skills, a deep understanding of identity-driven design, and the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to stakeholders and design teams.

  • Review and evaluate architectural plans, elevations, and façade details for compliance with Urban Identity Guidelines.
  • Ensure all design documentation aligns with project codes and regional identity requirements.
  • Provide technical comments and recommendations to architects, developers, and contractors.
  • Support the issuance of compliance reports and certifications.
  • Participate in design workshops, stakeholder meetings, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of review procedures and checklists.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum of 12 years of practical experience in architectural design and code compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience with architectural guidelines, building codes, or urban identity regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical requirements clearly.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and review software.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
